Bishop Melvin Taylor is the son of Mary and the late Isaac Taylor of Havre de Grace, Maryland. He serves as Senior Pastor and founder of the Word of Faith International Outreach, an innovative and progressive ministry located in Aberdeen, Maryland, since 1999. Since October of 2011he serves as the Presiding Bishop of Global United Ministries of Jesus Christ
Bishop Melvin Taylor, is a man with a God given vision to reach the world and change lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With his visionary leadership, Word of Faith has become a viable multi-cultural ministry that has developed and implemented many outreach efforts.
Through these efforts, Word of Faith has been a forerunner and catalyst of change within the community. “Impacting and transforming” describes the ministries of BishopTaylor and the many effective outreaches currently in operation. Along with these many outreach efforts Bishop Taylor has served on numerous boards, being consider one of the “movers and shakers” in the community.
Bishop Taylor has been blessed to have the door to the foreign evangelistic field open to him. His first trip was to Rhodes, Greece in 2004 birthing his international ministry. He has traveled extensively to Haiti, Guatemala, and El-Salvador. He has preached the gospel in such places as in the cities of Croatia, and Serbia in Europe, Guyana, South America and the Grand Turk Island.
In 2010, Partnership in Christ International was formed. Through outstanding partnerships with local ministries and community organizations Bishop Taylor has been blessed to build a school and provide all the support for the teacher, administrator, and supplies needed in Dessalines, Haiti., and now oversees 7 churches.
Bishop Melvin Taylor has the unique ability to teach the truth of God’s Word with simplicity; his anointed teaching will challenge one to grow spiritually, naturally, and compel them to move toward the next level in God. Bishop Taylor strongly believes in the concept of team ministry and encourages God’s people to become a more unified body of believers who are working together for the Kingdom of God.
From the tent revivals, the nursing home ministries, home Bible studies, radio broadcasts, senior housing outreaches, after school ministries, street evangelism – all have been instrumental to Bishop Taylor implementing the vision God has given to Him. Bishop Taylor and his wife Carol are the proud parents of six children and three grandchildren: Ver-Anita, Melvin, Takara, Taleya, Tiffany, Grace, Justin, Imyjah, and Joy. The couple also serves as surrogate parents to many other children in the church and community.
